name a better mmo game's pvp system and then think about it.

UO wasn't a better pvp game.

1. Was super laggy under the best conditions. For the time, we dealt with it because it was all we had. There wasn't much skill involved. period. Agressors + builds + numbers > newbies dungeon hopping.

2. OSI/EA quickly realized that uncontrolled pvp was wiping out their user base, so they started penalizing pvp.

3. So long ago no one remembers or cares. People who live in the past die in the present.. see all the old UO guilds cept Sinister and I'm not even sure they still play.

EQ wasn't a better pvp game.

How anyone could bring up EQ in a serious conversation on this subject is just.. bleh

SB wasn't a better pvp game. SB was barely a game at all. They allowed people to setup a billion trees, too easy to cheat it, pvp wasn't that interesting, took too much to defend a town, etc etc.. no real hold this dungeon type of pvp we all like.

Lineage 2? Final Fantasy? come on be serious.. AC? bullshit.. DAOC.. can't be serious..

PvP in WoW is prolly some of the most boring PvP ever.
Am I afraid to die? No. Is anyone afraid to die? No.

Whats the point in even fighting really beyond loot? No one cares if they
die. Thats why PvP is dying. People used to actually care when they died.
People used to get upset when they died and lost something. Sure, people
lose time, a whole 15 seconds, sometimes up to a minute if they die in
like Blade's Edge. Point being, its not true PvP because its been care bear'd.

Whiners and shit have turned PvP into a glorified care bear sport used to
attain gear. When this happened, PvP lost its fun. There is a penalty for
dying in PvE, so why not a penalty in PvP?

I didn't say EQ, I said EQ2. Did you even play it? Anyone who did all the
way to 70 would agree it had better PvP, just still buggy as hell. I actually
enjoyed killing people there. In WoW its just meh, I killed em, yay.

The first AC was better too. Thats was another fun PvP game. I mean seriously...
How often do you even get into world PvP in WoW? Not that often, they've
contained it to specific areas. Its a glorified sport. There was a day when
it was looked down on, now people are turning it into this dumb shit that
we put up with because we have no alternative. WoW is a PvE game imitating
some PvP. and because of that those of us who aren't all into PvE get bored.

As for living in the past. We aren't living in the past, but we aren't enjoying
the present. None of the old guilds are. DDH is on EQ2. SiN is still on WoW
but constantly posts and talks about every other new game that comes out
and how it might finally replace WoW with some real PvP.

SB yeah, it had potential but it went to shit as you said. Too many bugs,
required too much to protect towns. And no dungeons. Thats one thing
I liked about EQ2 that you don't have in WoW that I really hope future
games bring back -- non-instanced dungeons. You could go into dungeons
in UO, EQ2, AC, and kill people. I miss that. Now its just outdoor areas
where you might run into a handful of people. Or you can try and get em
outside of the dungeons. You don't even have to fight for your loot anymore
because its all instanced. There should be more competition for things like
that. Or at least split it up. Have some instanced and some not.

WoW currently has MAYBE the best PvP out there, but, I haven't played EQ2
since they fixed up their PvP problems. But nothing has come out in 3 years
really. But theres hope. WoW will be like EQ, it won't ever die out, but it'll
become a thing of the past in a few more years. It might even be eclipsed
by another Blizzard product. Hopefully one with better PvP.

Adding the ability to war other guilds would greatly improve WoW too imo.

Even w/o penalties that would add enjoyment.

OSI did see that uncontrolled PvP would end the game. So they penalized
it and put in guild wars. So we could all still fight like we used to. And
those who engaged in these fights and lost, were penalized with losing all
their loot. Those who won, took all their loot. Granted they can't do that
in WoW or care bears would throw a fit from losing all that nice gear. But
hell as I said, even being able to kill em would make the game 10x better.

Penalties would be nice, but just simply uninstancing some regularly run
dungeons and adding stuff like guild wars would be nice. JUST UN INSTANCE
STUFF FOR THE LOVE OF GOD EVERYTHING CAN'T BE SAFE! lol.

The only uninstanced places to try and have fun would be the world bosses
which spawn like once a week and you have to deal with 40ppl vs you. So
yeah, not much fun there.

Oh, and not trying to sound shitty in my posts.
Doing some crap for my Psych class that I'm behind in and trying to hurry.

Oh, I missed one comment. WoW is the most well rounded game to this
point ever yes. But I wouldn't go so far as to say its PvP is the most well
rounded. Maybe in fairness, but not fun.

On top of it all, inevitably in WoW, no matter what, you have to PvE to
survive in PvP. and I hate that, I really wish a game could find a way to
completely separate to too. The PvP gear is nice, but limiting. And you
can't PvP all day, or you get bored. And PvE just isn't our forte. We can
do it, if we really want, but WoW requires you to recruit so many extras
and do too much that a small guild like us just doesn't enjoy. =/

Also PvE in wow takes for damn ever and I don't feel like sitting around all day playing one instance. The content is pretty fun the first time through but after that its so repetitive and I hate rep grinding instances.
